Tucson Botanical Gardens Kicks Off "Twilight Thursdays" June 5
Tucson, Ariz. (April 10, 2008) -- Explore Tucson Botanical Gardens at night during Twilight Thursdays this summer. Each Thursday from June 5 - August 28, the Gardens will be open until 9 p.m., and will feature a themed event with entertainment, including live dancing and music, a pajama party, outdoor movie, kids night, flashlight tours, star-gazing and much more!

JUNE
5 DIG: Prehistoric Gardens - Dinosaur Night (Costumed Characters, Flashlight Tour of DIG)
12 Peruvian Night (Live Music: Entre Peruanos)
19 Brazilian Night (Live Music: Batucaxe´ - School of Samba)
26 Australia Night (Australian Minerals, Food & Wine Tasting and Tour of Australian Plants)
7:00pm Reading by Connie Spittler from her book, "The Desert Eternal"
JULY
3 American Night (Live Music: Havin' A Blast Womens' Barbershop Quartet & Stargazing)
10 Outdoor Movie (Bring your own lawn chair!)
8:00 pm "One Million Years BC" Starring Raquel Welch (Gardens will stay open until 10pm)
6:30pm "What's New with Dinosaurs" / Lecture: Dr. Richard Thompson
17 Kids' Pajama Night (Storyteller Mark Severson & Stargazing)
24 Kids' Night (Treasure Hunt, Arts & Crafts)
31 Asian Night (Dancing Chi, Tucson Bonsai Society, The Tucson Writers Studio Featuring the Poetry of Eleanor Kedney)
AUGUST
7 Mediterranean Night (Live Music Baha'i Choir)
14 Bluegrass Night (Live Music Desert Bluegrass Association)
21 Mexican Night (Performance by Viva/Ballet Folklorico San Juan)
28 Summer Celebration (USA Dance, Live Performance and Ballroom Dance Lessons)
Twilight Thursday events are included in the price of general admission (no additional charge). General Admission: $7 for adults, $4 for children ages 4-12 and free for members and children ages 3 and younger.
The Gardens Café featuring Café 54 will be open from 6-8pm.

Tucson Botanical Gardens, voted America's Best Secret Garden by Reader's Digest, is located at 2150 N Alvernon Way, just south of Grant Road, and open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. The Gardens promotes responsible and appropriate use of plants and water in a desert environment through education and demonstration and provides a place of beauty and tranquility for Tucson residents and visitors. Admission is $7 for adults, $4 for children ages 4-12 and Free for children ages 3 and younger. The Gardens is closed July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Day, and New Year's Day.
