TUCSON NAMED ONE OF AMERICA'S
TOP 8 TRAIL RUNNING TOWNS

TUCSON, Ariz. (August 25, 2008). Tucson has been named to TrailRunner magazine's list of the top 8 trail running towns in America.

Tucson's "trail runner town" ranking stems from the Old Pueblo's abundant trail running options, which include Catalina State Park, the Tucson Mountains, Mt. Lemmon, Sabino Canyon and Saguaro National Park.

TrailRunner's October issue selects Tucson for the city's desert scenery, year-round mild temperatures, easy access to cooler elevations, and demanding terrain. The article also mentions local runners Pam Reed - known for setting the women's course record in Death Valley's Badwater Ultramarathon - and Randy Accetta, president of the Southern Arizona Roadrunners.

The Metropolitan Tucson Convention & Visitors Bureau is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the Tucson area as a convention, group tour, visitor and film production destination. It is financially supported by the City of Tucson, Pima County, the Town of Oro Valley and nearly 800 business members.
