Tucson, Ariz., Oct. 28, 2008 - The Metropolitan Tucson Convention & Visitors Bureau is proud to announce that MeetingNews magazine has awarded the MTCVB the prestigious 2008 Planners' Choice Award honoring excellence in the meetings industry.

This year the readers of MeetingNews awarded 32 domestic and 12 international convention & visitors bureaus with the Planners' Choice Award distinction. More than 40,000 meeting, convention and incentive travel planners were asked to select their preferred organizations around the globe and in the United States based on quality of service.

MeetingNews travel planners also selected top resorts, hotels, convention centers, gaming resorts and conference centers. Tucson's JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort and Spa was also honored with a Planners' Choice Award for excellence in resorts.  For more information on awards and recipients visit http://www.inap.meetingnews.nielsencontests.com/.

The 2008 Planners' Choice Award winners will be featured in the December 1, 2008 issue of MeetingNews magazine.
