Tucson CVB Offers $20,000 Incentive To Book Meetings
Tucson, Ariz., December 2, 2008. Tucson CVB is offering up to $20,000 credit to groups booking meetings in Tucson in 2009. On December 10, 2008, Tucson CVB will begin an electronic and direct mail campaign offering groups $1,000 - $10,000 credit per meeting to their master accounts dependent upon the number of peak room nights the group books.
The CVB will provide half of the appropriate credit and participating meeting hotel/resorts will pay the other half in the form of master account credit. Groups booking consecutive multi-year events (2009 and 2010) will receive incentive funding for both meetings. Meetings booked in 2009 for 2010 dates will receive 50% of the outlined incentive credit.
"This program was born out of a strong desire to stimulate business and aid meeting professionals with budgetary concerns. It is based on feedback from hotel/resort partners and meeting planners received via interviews. This program will benefit both sides of meeting events and further strengthen the Tucson brand," States Tucson CVB Sr. VP of Sales & Marketing, Rick Vaughan.
Program criteria and restrictions are outlined below:
25-50 peak rooms $1,000 credit on master account
51-100 peak rooms $2,500 credit on master account
101-200 peak rooms $5,000 credit on master account
200+ peak rooms $10,000 credit on master account
- Peak rooms for a minimum of two nights
- Meeting must be booked and actualized in 2009 to receive credit
- Consecutive multiyear meetings will receive credit for both meetings
- Meetings booked in 2009 for actualization in 2010 will receive 50% of the outlined incentive credit
- Credit will be applied to the property master account of the booking property, not made as payment to the booking party directly
- Incentive is not applicable to meetings already contracted
- Incentive is not valid with other offers
- Booking groups must meet room night criteria as outlined above
- Booking representative must mention this promotion to qualify
Potentially, groups could save $20,000 by booking 2009 and 2010 meetings with participating MTCVB partners. To date, this is the highest valued incentive offered by MTCVB directly to meeting planners.
