CHEF ALBERT HALL TO BRING HIS CULINARY ARTISTRY TO TOHONO CHUL PARK TEA ROOM

Tucson, Ariz. (June 1, 2009) -- The Tohono Chul Park Tea Room has always been one of Tucson's most idyllic locations for breakfast, lunch and special occasions. Set in the midst of beautiful desert gardens, the native flora and fauna are inspirational.

Joan Donnelly, Executive Director of Tohono Chul Park, is pleased to announce that effective July 1, the Tea Room will be under the expert direction of Chef Albert Hall and his wife Lila Yamashiro. "We are looking forward to welcoming Albert and Lila. They are a dynamic team who bring a wealth of experience and talent with them," said Donnelly.

The duo behind the multi award-winning Acacia at St. Philip's Plaza are also very excited with this new venture. "The Tea Room is indeed a treasure and we are delighted to be part of a great Tucson tradition."
The Tea Room will be closed on June 30th for a quick transition and resume regular breakfast and lunch service on July 5th with a modified menu being served July 1st through 3rd (closed for the holiday on the 4th). The new menu will include some traditional Tea Room favorites as well as many of Chef Hall's signature dishes. The Southwestern inspired menu will place strong focus on using local, sustainably produced ingredients, and will also offer a variety of options including many vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free dishes. "We expect to include as many native, seasonal ingredients as we can find - including many that will be grown on the grounds of the Park," says Chef Hall. He is also looking forward to conducting cooking classes in the gardens beginning sometime in the fall.
