Tucson's arrival in Arizona Restaurant Week 2009 features over 30 dining venues
Tucson, Ariz. - Over 30 of Tucson's most esteemed restaurants have elected to participate in Arizona's tastiest event.
Spanning a varied array of cuisines and ambiance, Arizona Restaurant Week is designed for many of the state's finest chefs to present their culinary styles in an effort to position Arizona as a national culinary destination.
Arizona Restaurant Week is a premier eight-day culinary event showcasing the diverse culinary scenes of Tucson and the Phoenix Metro areas. In its second year, over 120 restaurants have already signed up between the two markets. Each restaurant will offer a prix-fixe, three-course dinner menu of signature dishes priced at $29 per person or $58 per couple, excluding drinks, tax and tip.
At press time, the following Tucson restaurants have confirmed their involvement with Arizona Restaurant Week:
Blanco Tacos & Tequila •· Bluefin Seafood Bistro •· Bob's Steak & Chop House •· Boston's the Gourmet Pizza •· Cup Café •· Desert Garden Bistro •· Dos Locos •· Feast •· Firebird's Wood Fired Grill •· Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar •· GOLD Room •· Harvest Restaurant •· Jonathan's Cork •· Kingfisher Bar & Grill •· Lodge on the Desert •· Maynard's Market & Kitchen •· Miguel's at La Posada •· Montana Avenue •· NoRTH •· Papagayo •· Pastiche Modern Eatery •· RA Sushi Bar & Restaurant •· Sullivan's Steakhouse •· The Flying V Bar & Grill •· The Grill at Hacienda Del Sol •· The Melting Pot •· Vila Thai Cuisine •· Wildflower •· Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar •· Zona 78 Italian Kitchen
Tucson's emergence into Arizona Restaurant Week has drawn early praise from diners of local, statewide and national interest.
Restaurateur Sam Fox, of Fox Restaurant Concepts, believes Arizona Restaurant Week is advantageous to putting Tucson restaurants on the map, after helping introduce the dining concept to the Phoenix Metro area in 2008.
With Tucson's chefs putting "their best foot forward", the prix-fixe dining value will get patrons "excited about dining out again," said Fox, entrepreneur of 11 boutique restaurant concepts.
"Our goal is to put out a great value for guests and really blow them away," Fox added.
The Arizona Restaurant Association encourages other local eateries to join in Tucson's initial entrance into Arizona Restaurant Week. Along with a huge lineup in the Phoenix Metro area, Tucson's presence in the week-long event gives both out-of-town and local food-lovers alike a taste of the state's finest cuisine. Registrations are still being accepted.
