Rick Vaughan Earns Certified Destination Management Executive Designation

TUCSON, Ariz. (October 28, 2009). The Metropolitan Tucson Convention & Visitors Bureau (MTCVB) is proud to announce that Sr. Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Rick Vaughan has earned the designation of Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME) from Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI). Vaughan has contributed to the tourism industry professionally for 35 years. He's served as the Sr. VP of Sales & Marketing at the Tucson CVB for ten years and previously held sales and marketing positions within the Marriott, Sheraton and Westin organizations.

The CDME certification is recognized as the highest educational achievement by the destination marketing industry.  It is earned by completing rigorous coursework required by the DMAI and Purdue University administered program over several years. The focus of the program is the implementation of strategy, vision and leadership to successfully promote a destination and support tourism industry.
