Old Tucson Announces Seasonal Park Operations/Hours
(Tucson, AZ) Old Tucson will adopt a seasonal operating calendar beginning in June for the remainder of the year. Similar to theme parks throughout most of the U.S., Old Tucson will conduct full operations during peak outdoor seasons. Old Tucson is open daily from 10am to 6pm through April 29.
Beginning in May, park hours will be 10am to 5pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays as well as Memorial Day. From June through September, Old Tucson will be open by reservation only for groups interested in guided tours and private events such as weddings, corporate functions, and company picnics. In October, Old Tucson will re-open to the general public on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through December with special holiday hours during Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks. Nightfall begins September 28 and will be open Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through October 28. For a detailed overview of operational days, please visit www.OldTucson.com.
This operational change will allow Old Tucson time to perform needed maintenance, make facilities improvements, and prepare for Nightfall, the popular month-long Halloween event. Old Tucson will make every effort to retain employees for group events, facilities operations, and Nightfall preparations.
"Summer in Tucson is the least active time of year in terms of visitors. Consolidating our operational resources during our peak season will allow us to provide an optimal guest experience. We have reviewed our operating schedule and determined that our best opportunity to entertain guests is when our climate is more welcoming," stated Old Tucson General Manager and CEO Pete Mangelsdorf. "We do have several private group events and weddings scheduled during the off-season and will continue to book that business. Additionally, several productions have expressed interested in filming during the summer months."
