New Tucson Resort Sparkles with Four Diamonds from AAA
Phoenix, April 27, 2012. A resort in Tucson is shining a little brighter, thanks to AAA. The auto club, which also serves as the largest leisure travel agency in North America, recently bestowed Casino Del Sol Resort, Spa and Conference Center with the prestigious Four Diamond Award.
"Receiving a Four Diamond Rating is one of the highest compliments in the hospitality industry, as these properties make up less than 5 percent of all AAA Approved lodgings," said Linda Gorman, director of communications and public affairs for AAA Arizona.
Casino Del Sol Resort, Spa and Conference Center earned the travel rating after an anonymous visit and inspection by AAA. On average, AAA inspectors evaluate nearly 900 hotels and restaurants per year in Arizona. This contributes to the evaluation of more than 58,000 establishments annually, nationwide. With the addition of Casino Del Sol Resort, Spa and Conference Center, there are now 42 properties in Arizona that boast the coveted Four Diamond Rating, including seven establishments in Tucson.
"As we continue to raise the expectations of our guests, having the honor and privilege of being named a AAA Four Diamond property sets the bar even higher," said Wendell Long, CEO of Casino Del Sol Resort, Spa and Conference Center. "We're looking forward to delivering on the excellence that is expected of Four Diamond resorts."
AAA has been inspecting and approving lodgings for 75 years, and the Diamond Rating system is the only system that covers the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. It is also one of only two that conducts physical, on-site evaluations by anonymous inspectors. AAA inspectors are professionally trained, and use published guidelines to evaluate and rate lodgings and restaurants as a service to members.
AAA's chart of lodging and restaurant criteria are available online. A complete list of Arizona Four and Five Diamond properties is available at az.aaa.com/diamonds.
