Blog - TWSY - Nickelodeon GiveawayWhen we had first heard about the Nickelodeon Weekend at the JW Marriott Starr Pass we knew it would be perfect for our family. A resort setting with fun-filled, kid-friendly themed activities seemed a great way to spend a weekend.

The JW Marriott Starr Pass is nestled in the foothills of Tucson's western mountain range. The drive towards the resort entrance provides a full view of the resort. As we walked into the lobby, we were greeted with a stunning view of the Tucson skyline. Our first indication of the Nickelodeon Getaway, were the colorfully dressed Nickelodeon hostesses standing next to a TV showing a Nickelodeon feature. They cheerfully let us know of the many options that would round out our weekend.

Blog - TWSY - Nickelodeon 02We checked-in to a clean and comfortable room. Close to supper time, we changed into our swimsuits and headed downstairs to start the weekend. On the patio, we listened to the resorts' nightly tequila toast. We enjoyed dinner at the outlet, Plunge! This is where we spotted one of Arizona's signature birds, the Road Runner.

After dinner, we walked to the resorts Starr Canyon River for the Slime Time experience and Dive-In Movie. When we returned to our room, we found Sponge Bob pillows on the bed and small drawstring packs for the boys. It was a great way to finish off the day that had already been filled with wonder and fun.

The next morning, Vince got in a sunrise run. The front desk had suggested a four-mile route that would take him out and back to the resort. He worked up an appetite for the Character Breakfast. SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer made an appearance at breakfast. It was a high-energy event with offerings that included French toast sticks and made-to-order omelets. There were also well organized photo opportunities with the characters.

After a good lathering of sunscreen, we spent the rest of the day at Starr Canyon River. The boys participated in Nick Live Poolside shows and colored postcards at the craft table. It was a super start to summer!

LOL - My kids have the Nick Jr. station # memorized on the remote. What a great way to have spent some family time together. We've done the Dive-In movies and they are fun!

Sounds like a great way to relax while your kids are engaged and entertained. Way better than putting your kids in front of the TV set. You also can't beat the Tucson views and crisp summer evenings.

This seems like a can't lose situation for parents. My eight year old loves Spongebob and my two year old loves Dora. I generally think of a getaway as not involving my kids, but this seems like a potentially great day with the whole family.

What are the dates on this event? Is it something that recurs frequently?

A weekend in Tucson during the summer has become a family tradition, and I dare say an escape from the heat of the Phoenix metro area.

As I read about the weekend, I imagined the amazement of my two grandsons to join in with Sponge Bob in the town of Bikini Bottom AKA Tucson. Being square is good. Can we find some Krabby Patties? The memory of travel is a lasting gift.

It has been a few years, but we loved our visits to the JW Marriott Star Pass Resort & Spa. There is an awesome golf course where we’d all golf, and great restaurants to enjoy while watching the sunsets. Fabulous family resort and golf resort. Five Stars in our book!

My ten year old has always wanted to stay at a Nickelodeon themed hotel. This would be win win for the whole family. Great dining ,sun, relaxation and activities that are all about his favorite carton characters. We have been wanting to plan our vacation around a road trip across the desserts states. We won't want to miss a stay at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort for our families adventure and a maybe a romantic sunset for Mom & Dad.

What more fun can a family have? Even though we live in Tucson, staying at the JW Marriott Star Pass Resort is a vacation in itself. The resort is beautiful inside and out. Adding the nickelodeon activities makes this a perfect getaway for a great bonding weekend for the family! What a great package the Marriott is offering. Happy dining and sliming for all of those lucky enough to attend!

Had dinner at Signature Grill on Saturday. Watches all the children having fun with Dora and Spongebob items. Our 3-year old grand-daughter's bedroom is a Dora monument, she watches one episode each evening before bed. What a great surprise for her it would be to win and meet the Tucson Dora.

The pool alone looks wonderful! Add Spongebob too and you got a wild time! This resort looks wonderful! I found this info on Facebook under Tucson will Surprise you. This would be a great Staycation trip.
