1. Tohono Chul Park Add To myTucson Vacation Planner
742-6455, 7366 N. Paseo del Norte, north Tucson. A scenic 49-acre desert preserve and center of nature, arts and culture. Nature trails and gardens, guided tours available, call for times. Enjoy three art galleries, unique gift shops and tea room. Open daily from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., $7 adults, $5 seniors (62+), $3 students (with ID), $2 children (5-12), under 5 free.

2. Catalina State Park Add To myTucson Vacation Planner
628-5798, off AZ Hwy. 77 (Oracle Rd.) just north of Tucson. Daily fee $6/car, 5 a.m.–10 p.m. Visitor center 7 a.m.–5 p.m. daily. Camping $15–$20. Allow 2–4 hours.
Stop at Ranger station before entering the park to pick up field information on the plants and animals living here. Excellent trail system. Romero Trail follows a wash and running creek—usually a good site for viewing an assortment of plants.

3. Biosphere 2 -The University of Arizona Add To myTucson Vacation Planner
838-6200, off AZ Hwy. 77 (Oracle Rd.), near Oracle, AZ. $20.00/adults, $13.00/children 6–12, 5 and younger free. 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
Allow two hours. Biosphere 2 was recently named by Time Life Books as one of the 50 must see "Wonders of the World". Biosphere 2 was originally designed as a prototype for space colonization; it now houses real time earth science and research along with a visitor center that has movies, exhibits, cafe and bookstore. Open daily!
