Tucson Folk Festival - 3 Days of Music & Food

Returns April 5 – 7, 2024

Three days of live Americana music and local food at one of the longest-running, free folk music festivals in the country.

The Tucson Folk Festival is proudly presented by the Tucson Kitchen Musicians Association (TKMA) in April. Featuring 160 groups or soloists, including many Tucson favorites, who provide some of the best traditional, contemporary, ethnic folk, and acoustic music guaranteed to delight and entertain the entire family. The totally walkable event is centered around Jácome Plaza in historic downtown Tucson.

Festival headliners include performers of national, regional, and local renown as well as kid-friendly entertainers. The Friday night kick-off showcases a regional headliner, followed by a favorite local band. Saturday features the national headliner.

Along with live music, the festival offers other memorable activities: the Stefan George Memorial Songwriting Competition; the Roger Mikulas Young Artist Showcase for youth under 18; interactive music workshops; the Ballad Tree for future songwriters (open mic); the Elise Grecco Marketplace for food and craft vendors; and a festival store and a beer garden.

The Tucson Kitchen Musicians Association

The Tucson Kitchen Musicians Association (TKMA) was formed in 1986 to further public awareness and interest in acoustic music and other folk arts by promoting and producing the annual Tucson Folk Festival. Over three decades later, the festival is held on the first weekend of April and attracts more than 13,000 fans and participants from Southern Arizona and across the nation. Over 250 volunteers support its success. The full story is on TucsonFolkFest.org.
