Missions & Churches Historic Churches of Old Bisbee Experience the history of Bisbee, Arizona, through its historic churches. Tour begins at the century-old Covenant Presbyterian Church built in 1903 by the Phelps Dodge Mining Company in the style of the Reformed Churches of Scotland and featuring lovely stained glass windows. Refreshments served while a presentation of the history of Bisbee churches is displayed. Next, walk uphill to the oldest church in Bisbee, the First Methodist Church (1900) and then on to St. John's Episcopal Church (1904), which has a magnificent Tiffany stained glass window. The tour concludes at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church (1917). This is a basilica structure in the Gothic Revival style with 31 beautiful Victorian stained glass windows designed and produced in the Emil Frei studios in St. Louis. This church is modeled after St. Begh's in Winterhaven, England. Remain in Bisbee for lunch and to shop on your own, or continue on to the Turquoise Valley Golf Club in the Arizona border town of Naco, for an authentic Sonoran-style lunch. Afterward, the group will tour a few churches along the border including St. Michael's Roman Catholic Mission Church and the Serbian Orthodox Church.
