Designed as the prime recreational amenity for residents and their guests, this private golf facility allows Sun City Vistoso homeowners to play the course for a daily green fee, or purchase an annual membership which includes the trail fee for privately owned golf carts.
Phoenix-based course designer Greg Nash found an ingenious routing through 90 acres of rolling desert terrain for this striking and challenging layout. With the towering Santa Catalina Mountains in full view, ample fairways play from elevated tees to well-protected elevated green complexes that rise as much as 40 vertical feet-belying the yardages shown on the card.
Sun City Vistoso offers a stimulating but manageable desert-style course with a traditional feel and an inviting and varied mix of holes. The few inevitable forced carries over dry washes and natural terrain are never more than 140 yards from the back tees. Nash felt the terrain and desert rough created enough challenges. Stands of acacia, mesquite, and Palo Verde trees add to the natural beauty of this layout.
If the course and the views aren't enough, Sun City Vistoso is home to almost every species of wildlife that resides in the desert. Roadrunners, rabbits, lizards, horned toads, javelina, deer, bobcats, and even an occasional mountain lion are seen roaming these fairways.
