The visitor center is located on the north side of La Placita Village, a colorful, multistory office complex at Broadway Blvd. and Church Ave., with street and garage parking east of the complex. La Placita is situated on the site of a former Barrio Historico neighborhood and features a shady courtyard, with picnic seating and bistro cafes surrounding the site of the 19th-century Plaza de Mesilla—a stagecoach stop along the famed El Camino Real. The gazebo is a replica of the plaza's original 1880s bandstand.
