Lodge on the Desert

The Lodge on the Desert's $15 million renovation and expansion includes a complete makeover of its existing 35 historical casita rooms and the addition of 67 new units. The combined 103 guest rooms and suites will feature Simmons® Beautyrest Black™ Beverly Hills™ Plush memory foam beds and luxury linens, ceiling fans, 42-inch flat-screen televisions and double sinks and vanity in baths. Most deluxe rooms will have patios and/or balconies; some will have gas fireplaces and oversized Sanijet spa tubs. The reorientation of the five-acre grounds includes an expanded new pool area with outdoor gas fireplace, two ramadas and a whirlpool spa. The renovated restaurant and bar will retain optimal indoor/outdoor patio seating. A full-service destination spa featuring four treatment rooms is scheduled to open in late 2009. Meeting and event space, including lawn areas, will increase to more than 7,200 square feet. A circular driveway will lead to the central Hacienda building, which contains the registration desk, living room and library areas, a small conference room and a sundries shop.

The Riverpark Inn expanded its meeting and event space with the addition of the Riverpark Ballroom. The new Riverpark Ballroom provides room for 250-350 guests for banquets and/or receptions and provides room for 100-300 guests for meetings and/or seminars. With the addition of the new ballroom, the inn offers 3,500-square feet of indoor/outdoor meeting and event space. The 174-room, two-story Riverpark Inn is a full-service, AAA 3-Diamond hotel located within walking distance of the Tucson Convention Center in downtown Tucson.

The Courtyard by Marriott at Williams Centre recently renovated its 147 guest rooms and six suites. All guest rooms have been improved with upgraded décor, including fresh carpeting, furniture, bedding and linens; new 32-inch high-definition, flat-screen televisions; and refrigerators. The next phase of the renovation, scheduled between August and November 2009, focuses on the lobby and public space. Plans include adding a GoBoard™, an interactive touch-screen television offering guests free visitor information, including current weather and traffic news, entertainment options, restaurant locations and driving directions.

Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Tucson Airport North completed its most recent renovations between late 2008 and January 2009. The exterior of the hotel was painted in bright Southwestern hues. The interior was freshened with installations of new flooring in the lobby and new carpeting in meeting spaces. New wall coverings and chandeliers were added to the hotel ballroom. The Falling Water Grill was expanded with the addition of an outdoor dining patio that serves breakfast and lunch. Guest rooms were updated with new case goods (storage furniture) to complement the wall coverings, carpet, beds, and artwork that were upgraded in 2007. Guest room windows were replaced with energy-efficient models as part of the hotel's far-reaching conservation practices.

Sheraton Tucson Hotel & Suites has completed another phase of its multi-million dollar renovation. The hotel lobby has been redecorated with contemporary, boutique hotel styling, such as a beautiful rock wall in the reception area. The upgraded lobby also houses the new Sheraton Business Link, a convenient communications hub for business travelers that features complimentary high-speed wireless Internet access and computer workstations with printing capability.  Personal hosts have replaced front desk agents to welcome and serve guests. Both the newly redesigned meeting rooms and the new Sabino Ballroom are decorated in a desert-hued palate and offer the most up-to-date technology and equipment. The upgraded fitness center has new Precor equipment, while the pool area will soon receive new patio furniture. A new restaurant, Fire+Spice, serves Arizona cuisine influenced by Spain, the Southwest and Native American artisanal recipes. The restaurant features warm, bold décor, ambient lighting, an indoor/outdoor bar and fire pits.

Westward Look Resort

Westward Look Resort has completed a $10 million renovation that has updated all areas of the resort, including the main lobby, guest rooms, meeting spaces/ballrooms, fitness center and pool and dining areas. New guest rooms are equipped with Sealy Posturpedic® pillow-top mattresses, all-natural bedding, 42-inch HD plasma televisions and high-speed Internet wireless access. In-room bathrooms incorporate walk-in showers, lighted make-up mirrors and 100 percent cotton waffle-weave robes. In February 2009 the resort unveiled its new signature restaurant, GOLD, with new interior décor and a new menu, created by new executive chef James Wallace, featuring innovative contemporary American cuisine with a touch of desert-inspired flavors. GOLD continues the tradition of the Gold Room, an AAA Four Diamond and Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence recipient. The existing Lookout Bar & Grille has an updated look and redesigned menu featuring "American fare with a Western flair."

Omni Tucson National Resort

The Omni Tucson National Resort has completed a $30 million renovation. Improvements to meeting and private dining space include the newly remodeled Ironwood Salons and Desert Willow Salon, and the all-new 1,054-square-foot Cypress Salon. The redesigned meeting rooms feature natural lighting; outdoor terraces with fairway and mountain views; and convenient access to the business center, conference office and reception area. The golf shop features a new area for club members. Dining improvements include introduction of nationally renowned Bob's Steak & Chop House (in former Catalina Grille location) and enhancements to existing Legends Bar & Grill. The 79 remodeled Mountain Vista guest rooms and lofts surround the new Sweetwater Terrace (and its infinity-edge pool, hot tub, private cabanas and Cabana Bar), located at the edge of the renowned Catalina Golf Course. These guest rooms feature private terraces/patios, in-suite master baths, large walk-in closets and separate vanity areas, oversized furnishings, flat-screen TVs and desert-hued décor. The renovated resort encompasses 128 guest rooms and a total of 20,000 square feet of meeting space consisting of 10,000 square feet of indoor meeting space and 10,000 square feet of outdoor function space.

Hilton Tucson East

The Hilton Tucson East completed phase two of a multi-million dollar renovation to the hotel's guest rooms and meeting facilities. Improvements include refurbishment of all guest rooms, including the addition of 32-inch flat-screen televisions; new floor tile, closets, and furnishings; and glass shower stalls added to all King Rooms. Lobby corridors and the Executive Level were completely renovated. Two conference rooms were outfitted with state-of-the-art meeting supplies, such as electronic white boards, executive buffets housing stocked refrigerators and safes for securing laptop computers, recycling containers, and new furnishings and seating in preparation for the launch of the new Hilton Meetings program.

The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa has completely renovated its lobby and lounge; this includes the addition of the Sonoran Room, a 4,300-square-foot space designed to accommodate meetings and special events ranging in size from three to 300 guests. The Sonoran Room's warm Paldao wood-lined walls create an inviting atmosphere and the new patio adds an outdoors option. The hotel's exterior has been improved with $1 million in landscaping that includes new planter beds and plants and fresh paint on guest room buildings. La Paloma County Club has embarked on a $3 million renovation to convert the traditional bent-grass greens to a new and improved hybrid Bermuda turf on all 27 holes of its Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. The Hill Course's greens and bunkers have been redesigned and rebuilt by Nicklaus Golf. The new fleet of golf carts features GPS units. La Paloma Country Club Grill has been updated with new furnishings, paint, wall coverings and plasma televisions.

The Hacienda del Sol recently completed a $1 million resort renovation that includes improvements to guest rooms, meeting rooms and its acclaimed restaurant, as well as the addition of a new gift shop. Guest rooms were renovated to allow for more comfort and amenities while still retaining the ambience of a classic Tucson inn. Meeting rooms were renovated. The award-winning restaurant, The Grill, underwent a facelift that includes new hardwood floors, carpeting and a new, outdoor patio with views of the main courtyard-a wonderful place for breakfast or lunch. The Grill also was upgraded with the introduction of chef-side dining table; a community table seating six to eight with views of the kitchen line at work; and fresh, ambient décor, as well as jazz piano nightly.

Doubletree Hotel Tucson at Reid Park

The Doubletree Hotel Tucson at Reid Park has completed phase two of a major renovation. All courtyard-area guest rooms were improved with contemporary décor, marble and granite upgrades in all baths, new tile entryways, new patios and 42-inch plasma televisions. Landscaping improvements were made to the entire 14-acre property. The 10,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom was fully renovated to include new floor coverings, walls, air walls, art and furniture. The new ballroom leads the way in showing off the hotel's planned total makeover. The hip and contemporary new look features abstract art, whimsical floor covering, eclectic furnishings and vibrant colors.

The Radisson Suites Hotel Tucson Airport has completely refurbished its 204 suites with improvements that include the addition of the custom Sleep Number Bed by Select Comfort® to its regular line of pillow-top bedding. To provide guests with enhanced dining experiences, Finnegan's Restaurant and Finnegan's Lounge have been completely renovated. The restaurant still offers a complimentary full American breakfast buffet each morning. The Lounge provides an area in which to socialize and watch the new big-screen televisions while enjoying the complimentary evening cocktail reception.

The new Wingate by Wyndham Hotel Oro Valley has opened north of Tucson near Pusch Ridge. Designed for business and leisure travelers and families, the Wingate Oro Valley offers 104 guest rooms and suites, spacious meeting rooms, a private boardroom and complimentary business and fitness centers. Guests enjoy a complimentary hot breakfast buffet in the two-story breakfast area overlooking an outdoor pool patio with a hot tub and water feature. Other amenities include free high-speed wireless Internet access, free local calls, TTY telephones for hearing-impaired guests, and 32-inch LCD televisions with 12 high-definition channels. All guest suites feature a bedroom and an office with a desk, speakerphone, voicemail and conference call capability, a secure safe and a coffeemaker. Beds feature pillow-top style mattresses. The hotel is located northwest of downtown Tucson in the Santa Catalina Mountain foothills.

TownePlace Suites Tucson Airport is under construction near Tucson International Airport. The 91-suite property will feature separate living and sleeping areas. Each suite will include a fully equipped kitchen (refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, cookware/dinnerware), a 37-inch flat-screen television and a pullout sofa. Complimentary breakfast and evening receptions will be offered daily. Select suites will offer our HomeOffice work area, featuring a large desk, ergonomic chair, voice mail, and free high-speed wired/wireless Internet access. The 24-hour In a Pinch market will stock basic necessities. Guests can maintain their fitness routines at the state-of-the-art fitness room and sports court, and year-round heated pool.

Hampton Inn & Suites Tucson East

The Hampton Inn & Suites Tucson East is under construction in midtown Tucson, on the east side of Park Place mall near a large selection of shopping and dining options as well as Davis Monthan Air Force Base and Raytheon Missile Systems. The three-story hotel will house 101 guest rooms and an 853-square-foot meeting room. The spacious lobby-and-relaxation area will feature vaulted ceilings, a fireplace and plenty of windows. Guests will be able to unwind in the modern fitness center and outdoor pool. All public areas and guest rooms will offer complimentary high-speed Internet access, and the professional business center will be open 24 hours a day. A free breakfast buffet will be served daily.

The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain

The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain is under construction in the foothills of the Tortolita Mountains, about 20 miles northwest of Tucson. When complete, the resort will feature 250 guest rooms, including 24 individual casita rooms and The Ritz-Carlton Club Level and suites, all offering views of the expansive Sonoran Desert terrain, the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course or mountain vistas. Décor in all guest facilities will reflect the local landscape and cultures with desert hues and natural elements of stone, wood, fire and stars. There will be three restaurants at the resort as well as a 17,000-square-foot spa and fitness center, a swimming pool complex and tennis courts. Cayton's, the signature restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain, has opened to the public and serves American comfort cuisine with Southwestern flair. The initial 27 holes of the Nicklaus golf courses and the 45,000-square-foot club complex opened in time to host the 2009 World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship. Nine more golf holes are expected to open in 2010. Three ballrooms of 9,000, 5,000, and 2,100 square feet and five individual meeting rooms will offer special event space. Several outdoor venues will be available for unique occasions, weddings and social celebrations.
