The Palo Verde Inn & Suites is located minutes from Tucson International Airport, downtown Tucson, University of Arizona, and Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. The centrally located, 173-room hotel recently improved its outdoor pool area by refinishing the heated pool, replacing the pool deck, and adding a new, covered ramada with a gas barbecue grill; the 28 poolside rooms in this area were repainted and redecorated and upgraded with private patios. Near the pool area, a private, VIP courtyard was enhanced with a new gas barbecue grill and a new hot tub, and a cluster of 48 courtyard suites were individually redecorated with granite countertops; new carpeting, furniture, and linens; and a microwave oven and a refrigerator. A new outdoor balcony overlooking the pool area was added next to the second-floor meeting room, and a private boardroom for up to 10 was added, bringing the hotel's meeting space to 4,000 square feet. The new 700-square-foot balcony area features ceiling fans, space heaters, and new patio furniture, and is available for private, group functions of up to 30 guests.

The Radisson Tucson Suites recently renovated its 3,420-square-foot Catalina Ballroom as well as its 2,568-square-foot Reddington Room. Everything from the doors and walls to the carpeting and lights were completely re-done, resulting in a warm, inviting ambience. A new, all-weather sunshade was added to the Reddington Room's terrace, making outdoor receptions and events worry-free. The transformation included guest room improvements: new furniture, fresh carpeting and paint, upgraded microwave ovens and flat-screen TVs. Poolside, three new cabanas and three oversized umbrellas were installed. The five-story, 299-room, full-service hotel is located on Tucson's east side.

The Lodge on the Desert's $15 million renovation and expansion includes a complete makeover of its existing 35 historical casita rooms and the addition of 67 new units. The combined 103 guest rooms and suites feature Simmons® Beautyrest Black™ Beverly Hills™ Plush memory foam beds and luxury linens, ceiling fans, 42-inch flat-screen televisions and double sinks and vanity in baths. Most deluxe rooms have patios and/or balconies; some will have gas fireplaces and oversized Sanijet spa tubs. The reorientation of the five-acre grounds includes an expanded new pool area with outdoor gas fireplace, two ramadas and a whirlpool spa. The renovated restaurant and bar retain optimal indoor/outdoor patio seating. Meeting and event space, including lawn areas, has increased to more than 7,200 square feet. A circular driveway leads to the central Hacienda building, which contains the registration desk, living room and library areas, a small conference room and a sundries shop.

The Riverpark Inn expanded its meeting and event space with the addition of the Riverpark Ballroom. The new Riverpark Ballroom provides room for 250-350 guests for banquets and/or receptions and provides room for 100-300 guests for meetings and/or seminars. With the addition of the new ballroom, the inn offers 3,500-square feet of indoor/outdoor meeting and event space. The 174-room, two-story Riverpark Inn is a full-service, AAA 3-Diamond hotel located within walking distance of the Tucson Convention Center in downtown Tucson.

The Courtyard by Marriott at Williams Centre recently renovated its 147 guest rooms and six suites. All guest rooms have been improved with upgraded décor, including fresh carpeting, furniture, bedding and linens; new 32-inch high-definition, flat-screen televisions; and refrigerators. A recent addition to the lobby/public space is a GoBoard™, an interactive touch-screen television offering guests free visitor information, including current weather and traffic news, entertainment options, restaurant locations and driving directions.

Westward Look Resort has completed a $10 million renovation that has updated all areas of the resort, including the main lobby, guest rooms, meeting spaces/ballrooms, fitness center and pool and dining areas. New guest rooms are equipped with Sealy Posturpedic® pillow-top mattresses, all-natural bedding, 42-inch HD plasma televisions and high-speed Internet wireless access. In-room bathrooms incorporate walk-in showers, lighted make-up mirrors and 100 percent cotton waffle-weave robes. In February 2009 the resort unveiled its new signature restaurant, GOLD, with new interior décor and a new menu, created by new executive chef James Wallace, featuring innovative contemporary American cuisine with a touch of desert-inspired flavors. GOLD continues the tradition of the Gold Room, an AAA Four Diamond and Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence recipient. The existing Lookout Bar & Grille has an updated look and redesigned menu featuring "American fare with a Western flair."

The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain has opened in the foothills of the Tortolita Mountains, about 20 miles northwest of central Tucson in the town of Marana. The resort features 250 guest rooms, including 24 individual casita rooms and The Ritz-Carlton Club Level and suites, all of which offer views of either expansive Sonoran Desert terrain, the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, or mountain vistas. Décor in all guest facilities reflects the local landscape with desert hues and natural elements of stone, wood, fire and stars. Thre restaurants are at the resort as well as a 17,000-square-foot spa and fitness center, a swimming pool complex and tennis courts. Cayton's, the signature restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain, serves American comfort cuisine with Southwestern flair. The initial 27 holes of the Nicklaus golf courses and the 45,000-square-foot club complex is the location for the 2010 World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship.
