2010 Transportation Options
Welcome to Tucson!
Congratulations to the Arizona Department of Transportation for finishing the I-10 Widening Project ahead of schedule, and well in advance of the 2010 Showcase! We hope you find it easy to navigate your way through the gems and fossils using our new stretch of freeway. Below are some links you also may find helpful.
Shuttles
Because Gem Ride was largely funded by state money to ease transit during the I-10 Widening Project, the service is now discontinued. However, many shows will be running private shuttles. We will post information and maps as we receive them. In the meantime, please contact shows directly.
Transportation Options For Showcase Patrons
Sun Tran
Our public bus system may be of service-please call (520) 792-9222 or visit their website for route maps and schedules. Note their Downtown Loop shuttle, which can place riders within walking distance of a few gem shows.
Parking
Limited parking is available at shows (please call individual shows for details) and parking will continue to be available at 22nd St. and I-10 frontage road (East side), and Congress St. and I-10 frontage road (West side) as well as at the JOGS show at Tucson Expo Center on East Irvington Road.
Parking convenient to downtown and frontage road shows:
- 22nd Street (northeast corner of I-10 & 22nd)
- Congress (Congress west of the river)
Parking lots are open daily 8am-8pm. Daily fee for most lots is $5.
Additional parking is available at these downtown lots:
- Pennington Street Garage 110 E. Pennington St. at Scott Ave.
- City & State Garage 498 W. Congress, 1 block east of I-10
