The second annual Southern Arizona Salsa and Tequila Challenge, presented in partnership with the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, invites area restaurants and professional chefs to enter their most delicious recipes and compete for the best salsa and tequila cocktail in the region. The fiesta will celebrate Hispanic heritage with mariachi, flamenco, Latin dancing, children's activities and artwork. An amateur competition will also take place separately, giving individuals a chance to win without competing against professional chefs. The Tequila Challenge offers local chefs a chance to create unique interpretations of original tequila-based mixed drinks. A Mexican-themed dinner will also be served during the Tequila Challenge from the restaurants that make Tucson famous for its delicious Latin-inspired and authentic cuisines.
