Bisbee, AZ -- Avast Ye! The Pirates of the Sky Islands present the 14th Annual Bisbee Pirates Weekend, dropping anchor once again in landlocked Bisbee, Arizona, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, August 8-10, 2025.

 

You’re hereby invited to gather your crew, young and old, and plan to set sail to this historic mining town where you will find treasure and entertainment aplenty.

 

The Bisbee Pirate Weekend has become one of the largest and longest-running events in Bisbee. The volunteer board that produces the event, The Pirates of the Sky Islands, is proud that over the past three years the event has grown into a three-day festival.

 

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS: FRIDAY


The three-day event launches on Friday, August 8, from 4-6 pm, with a pirate-themed Meet and Greet at the Bisbee Grand Hotel, 61 Main Street. Sign up for this event at the website.

Once the sun sets, join The Pirates of the Sky Islands and the Central School Project at 43 Howell Avenue for a free outdoor showing of Waterworld, the 1995, post-apocalyptic pirate action film starring Kevin Costner. Doors open at 6:30 pm.

Don your fiercest, maritime and merfolk finery and plan to attend the Pirate Ball held at 8 pm in the iconic Pythian Castle, 37 OK Street. This is a ticketed event.

 

SATURDAY

 

From 10 am to 4 pm, Bisbee’s City Park, 62 Brewery Avenue, will be transformed into a family-friendly, maritime marketplace filled with vendors peddling wares, along with troubadours, acrobats, and, of course, magical mermaids and a pirate costume contest! Be sure to visit the information booth to sign up for the world-famous Bisbee Buccaneers Treasure Hunt to win a chest full of booty!

If all that fun leaves you with a mighty thirst, be sure to sign up for the infamous Bisbee Pirate Weekend Pub Crawl, from 1-3:30 pm, starting at the Screaming Banshee Pizza at 200 Tombstone Canyon, lead by Magic Kenny Bang Bang, host of the famous Bisbee Seance Room, and his buccaneer sidekick, Kenny of the Hatchets. This is a ticketed event limited to adults 21+. Identification is required and will be checked. Enjoy the legendary Return of the Mermaids Nighttime Parade starting at 6:30 pm on Main Street.

 

SUNDAY

 

Don’t miss out on a chance to swim with mermaids at the Mermaid Meet Up at the beautiful Bisbee City Pool, 1 Higgins Avenue. From noon to 2 pm. This is a ticketed event.
