“TIDAL is a breezy, dreamy album, a collection of psychedelic chamber pop unfurling like the wings of a newly hatched butterfly” - Hollywood.com
“Indie rock singer-songwriter Brian Lopez…[is] a precarious traipse down a shadow-brick road filled with melodies that border on the mystical [that] leans into the track’s psychedelic waltz sound and concocts images that bring the lyrics to magical realist life.” - REMEZCLA
““TIDAL’s debut single is indie rock and folk this side of Elliott Smith, finding its mellow vibe in subtle, undulating synths, guitar tones, and soft-sung vocals.” - PopMatters
“...something so hi-fi and perfect. It's cinematic in its approach, a slow build into very classic sounding.…musically it's in that vein of 70's pop and the full orchestration only helps it to feel like a soundtrack
piece.” - Blood Makes Noise
December 13, 2023 - Brian Lopez, Arizona's own darling of the southwestern psych-indie rock world, will debut his critically acclaimed album TIDAL for homestate audiences this coming January. The shows taking place in Phoenix and Tucson will serve as a very special homecoming for the singer/songwriter who has spent the better part of the last year on tour opening for Calexico and Devotchka across Europe and the US, and most recently taking the stage at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
Lopez, the classically trained Tucson native, has been influential in defining the desert noir sound of the American Southwest over the past two decades. Often compared to Elliott Smith and Nick Drake, his sonic soundscapes bridge genres from its prominent base in indie and art rock to experimentation within Americana, psychedelia, folk, cumbia and chamber pop. His recently released fourth solo album TIDAL (released July 2023 via Cosmica Artists) exudes the famed desert romantic's sweet magnetism and characteristic Southwestern pop psychedelic tendencies. The result is a lush, dreamlike collection of songs and guitar-driven storytelling that will take you on a sonic journey to the heart of the American Southwest. The record received accolades by media critics being a featured piece on the cover of Rolling Stone (FR), reviewed by Phoenix Mag, Remezcla, Hollywood.com and named December 2023 ‘Album Of The Month’ by FIP Radio (FR).
During his Arizona dates, Lopez and his band will be performing songs from TIDAL - as well as an eclectic mix of fan favorites from his extensive catalog.
Lopez is available for interviews.

The result is a lush, dreamlike collection of songs and guitar-driven storytelling that will take you on a sonic journey to the heart of the American Southwest.
