TUCSON, AZ — October 2025 — Child & Family Resources invites the community to join in a vibrant and creative event, Community Canvas: Paint by Numbers Mural with Pen Macias, taking place on Saturday, October 25th, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at 2800 E Broadway Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85716.
This fun-filled community event will bring people together to help paint a large-scale mural facing Broadway Blvd., designed and sketched by local Tucson muralist Peniel “Pen” Macias. Participants will help bring the mural to life “paint-by-numbers” style—no artistic experience required!
“This mural isn’t just about brightening up a wall,” said Diane Fellows, CEO and President of Child & Family Resources. “It’s a reflection of what we believe at Child & Family Resources: that lasting impact is made when people come together with a shared vision. Just like the mural, thriving communities are built with many hands, diverse perspectives, and a common purpose.”
The event is open to community members ages 14 and up, due to the mural’s proximity to a busy street. Attendees are encouraged to dress for a mess, as paint may splatter during the creative process. Light refreshments will be provided.
The mural reflects Child & Family Resources’ ongoing commitment to building strong community ties and celebrating local creativity, while upholding their mission to empower children, youth, and families to build bright, thriving futures.
