Tucson, AZ---The 28th Annual Downtown Tucson Parade of Lights will take place on Saturday, December 17 beginning at 6:30pm. The parade is a longstanding tradition and  outstanding, family friendly event that brings thousands of people together downtown from around the city each year. This is  the perfect time of the year to stroll through downtown and enjoy all the beautifully lit trees and storefronts along the parade route - a very special way to welcome the holiday season.

The Parade of Lights committee invites members of the community, businesses, social clubs, arts groups, friends and families to join in the fun by entering their own brightly lit decorated floats (a trailer/flatbed that is towed by a vehicle) and motor vehicles (decorated cars, motorcycles, trucks).  Individual participants and music groups are also encouraged to join in the holiday spirit with their own special holiday creativity.  All parade participants must register at https://downtownparadeoflights.com/participate/apply/ no later than November 30.

The route for the Parade of Lights will begin at 17th St. and Stone Avenue and will make its way through downtown to Armory Park.  Attendees are encouraged to visit local downtown merchants, enjoy dinner, and the light-filled promenades of downtown along the parade route.  Additionally, some of Tucson’s top food trucks will be located on 12th Street between 5th Ave and 6th Ave offering a wide variety of dining options throughout the evening.

Staging for the parade will take place along 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, and 17th streets from 5th Avenue to 6th Avenue. The best views will be available at Armory Park, St. Augustine Cathedral, and the Children’s Museum Tucson. For a full parade route visit www.DowntownParadeOfLights.com
