Tucson, AZ---The 28th Annual Downtown Tucson Parade of Lights returns THIS SATURDAY, December 17th at 6:30pm in the Armory Park Neighborhood. Presented by Rio Nuevo District, Downtown Tucson Partnership, Truly Nolen, and Afni, this year’s event will be bigger than ever, featuring over 1000+ parade participants. Floats in the parade will include Tucson High Marching Band, Ballet Folklorico Tapatio, Old Pueblo Fire, Tucson Comic-Con, Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption, Santa Claus HIMSELF, and many, many more.
The route for the Parade of Lights begins at 17th St and Stone Avenue and will make its way through downtown to Armory Park, ending at 220 S 6th Avenue. Attendees are encouraged to visit local downtown merchants, enjoy dinner, and stroll the light-filled promenades of downtown along the parade route. Additionally, some of Tucson’s top food trucks will be located on 12th Street between 5th Ave and 6th Ave offering a wide variety of dining options throughout the evening. They will include Tacoqueta, Biggie Boy BBQ,Takoyaki Balls,Gigi’s Peruvian Fusion,Off The Hook Seafood, Loly’s Tortas, Jackie's Food Court, The Sweet Coqui, and The Curry Pot.
Staging for the parade will take place along 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, and 17th streets from 5th Avenue to 6th Avenue. The best views will be available at Armory Park, St. Augustine Cathedral, and the Children’s Museum Tucson. For a full parade route visit www.DowntownParadeOfLights.com.
