Tucson, AZ – Kingfisher’s summer road trip arrives in the Great Plains of the Midwest this week.  Bursting with seasonal goodness and the flavors of “back home” states like Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Iowa, Kingfisher Chef/owner Jim Murphy looks forward to this segment each summer.  “The special flavors of regional tastes like Lake Perche and Walleye are unique to the Midwest. This is one of my favorite Road Trip menus to create”. Pastry Chef Marianne Banes adds her expertise to the menu with an outstanding Strawberry Rhubarb and bartender Jared Hillmar has created “The Steel Mill” cocktail that pairs perfectly with the menu.  The Great Plains/Midwest menu will be offered from Tuesday, July 26th (at 4pm) through Saturday, August 6th.   

Kingfisher’s Summer Road Trip, now in its 29th season, is their annual culinary exploration of the US through the signature dishes of each region.  Road Trip menus are offered along with the regular Kingfisher menu throughout the summer.  Remaining destinations include Back East (August 9 through August 20) and California/Hawaii (August 23 through September 3
