Tucson, AZ – A month full of cheer at the Fox is just what we all need! It wouldn’t be the holiday season without the beloved movie classics Elf, It’s a Wonderful Life, and Polar Express, this year with the added bonus of holiday music on the Mighty Wurlitzer preceding each film. Nothing beats sharing good times with legends Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Mavis Staples, and Gordon Lightfoot, and no one brings the down-home holiday vibe better than the Mavericks. The In the Christmas Mood Holiday spectacular is a must, along with A Carpenters Christmas, and a Doo Wop Christmas. And the true spirit of the season shines brightly in the live stage production of All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914. It’s all at the Fox in December!

Dec 1, 7:30pm – Lisa Rock in A Carpenters Christmas
While The Carpenters are known for over a dozen chart topping hits, they also won over their fans with their Christmas celebrations. Singer and playwright Lisa Rock and her 6-piece backing band are keeping The Carpenters’ holiday traditions alive and bringing their unforgettable Christmas songs to the stage. Based on the music of The Carpenters’ two holiday albums and Christmas variety shows, A Carpenters Christmas and featuring “Merry Christmas Darling” and the jazzy “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town,” it’s a holiday concert that spreads joy and cheer to all.
Dec 3, 7:30pm - Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Holiday 2022
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy brings its world-renowned live show, and fun and quirky take on the holidays, with arrangements of classic holiday songs in Big Bad Voodoo Daddy style including Jingle Bells, Santa Claus Is Coming to Town, and Winter Wonderland. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is “Andrew’s Sisters” meets the blues, and the just as classic Heat Miser song transports listeners back to another beloved holiday special. The band rips through Chuck Berry’s "Run, Run Rudolph," Lou Rawls’ "Merry Christmas Baby," and slows things down for Elvis Presley’s "Blue Christmas." Detours to New Orleans for "Frosty the Snowman," and to the Caribbean for the Calypso A Party for Santa, keep things interesting. The band takes a moment to reflect on the beauty and spirituality of the holidays with their moving arrangement of "We Three Kings."

Elf is a 2003 American Christmas comedy directed by Jon Favreau and written by David Berenbaum with Will Ferrell as the title character, a human raised by Santa’s Elves, who learns about his origins and heads to NYC to meet his biological father. James Caan, Zooey Deschanel, Mary Steenbergen, Ed Asner, and Bob Newhart appear in supporting roles. The Polar Express is a 2004 American computer-animated adventure film co-written and directed by Rober Zemeckis. The film features human characters animated using live-action and motion-capture CGI animation. It tells the story of a young boy who, on Christmas Eve, sees a mysterious train bound for the North Pole stop outside his window and is invited aboard by its conductor. The boy joins several other children as they embark on a journey to visit Santa Claus preparing for Christmas. The film stars Tom Hanks, also one of the film's executive producers, in multiple distinct roles, with Daryl Sabara, Nona Gaye, Jimmy Bennett, and Eddie Deezen in supporting roles. It's a Wonderful Life is a 1946 American Christmas fantasy drama film produced and directed by Frank Capra, based on the short story and booklet The Greatest Gift, which Philip Van Doren Stern self-published in 1943 and is in turn loosely based on the 1843 Charles Dickens novella A Christmas Carol The film stars James Stewart as George Bailey, a man who has given up his personal dreams, in order to help others in his community, and whose thoughts of suicide on Christmas Eve brings about the intervention of his guardian angel, Clarence Odbody (Henry Travers).
