(Elgin, Arizona) -- Los Milics Vineyards has been named the nation's #3 Best New Winery Experience by the USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice Awards for 2023.
Los Milics Vineyards was the only Arizona winery to make the list.
"As the new kid on the block, it is extremely gratifying to receive this honor," said Pavle Milic, LMV partner and winemaker. "We thank the experts who nominated us and everyone in the Los Milics family who voted for us. We are humbled and honored to be on this list."
Nominees were chosen by a panel of relevant experts who live in the cities they write about. They included a combination of editors from USA TODAY, editors from 10Best.com, relevant expert contributors, and sources for both these media and other Gannett properties. Well-traveled and well-educated, they are specialists in their fields and in their cities.
"Our vision for Los Milics was to create a new wine experience for Arizona, so it is terrific to be recognized in this category," said Mo Garfinkle, Los Milics Vineyards partner. "The views drove our decision to create this destination. Our award-winning wines are produced by Pavle and his team at our estate vineyard."
Milic and Garfinkle began their partnership by purchasing 20 acres in the high desert of Southern Arizona for the estate vineyard in 2018. The pristine landscape inspired Chen + Suchard Studio, the architects for Los Milics Vineyards. In addition to the contemporary tasting room, which opens onto a large patio for inside-outside wine tastings, Chen + Suchard Studio designed the winery's visually stunning production facility. Nine guest casitas will open in 2024.
