Tucson, AZ – Music and Movies and Sing – Along classics - this could be the best summer deal in town and a great way to beat the heat. In addition to the summer line up of great shows offered at the Fox Tucson Theatre, a variety of highly acclaimed movies selected for their outstanding musical scores will also be featured. Most of the films have not been shown at the Fox before, some have been specially created for audience sing-alongs while others will be paired with a live music performance featuring Tucson’s top artists. Get ready for the most fun in Tucson this summer!
Music and Movies Series – In conjunction with 2nd Saturdays
2nd Saturdays is Tucson’s monthly celebration of all that Downtown Tucson has to offer, a special evening featuring live entertainment, dining, and special offers from its many merchants, restaurants, etc. Each month on the second Saturday of the month, the Fox Tucson Theatre will feature a very special one-of- a- kind performance by local talents paired with a music themed film. Doors open at 6pm, music begins at 7pm, movies begin at 8pm. Cost per person is $12.50 for adults and $10 for children 16 and under.
June 11- Walk the Line with: South Western Stars featuring Mamma Coal and Charlie Hall
The Music: South Western Stars brings together a variety of talents performing a wide variety of American music. This performance brings together Carra “Mamma Coal” Stasney, a singer-songwriter steeped in the traditional sounds of country and roots music and Charlie Hall, known for his blues and soulful performances throughout Tucson.
The Movie (2005):
Walk the Line is a chronicle of country music legend Johnny Cash’s life, from his early days on an Arkansas cotton farm to his rise to fame with Sun Records in Memphis, where he recorded alongside Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins
July 9 – Ray with: Miss Olivia and the Interlopers
The Music:

The Movie (2004):
Ray is the story of music legend Ray Charles (played by Jamie Foxx). The movie covers his humble origins in Florida, his turbulent childhood, the loss of his eyesight and his rise as one of the pre-eminent talents of our time.
August 13 – The Sound of My Voice with Musical Artists: Liz and Pete
The Music
Known as “Liz and Pete” Liz Cerepanya and Peter Dalton Ronstadt joined musical forces in 2019. The popular duo has recorded an album “Beautiful Strangers” featuring Liz’s heartfelt voice and Pete’s haunting harmonies and rich guitar arrangements. Liz & Pete's natural element is just the two of them on stage accompanied by an acoustic guitar and the Pennsylvania Stompbox.
The Movie (2019):
The highly acclaimed 2019 documentary film, The Sound of My Voice, is a musical biography and tribute to Tucson native Linda Ronstadt, performer, artist and pioneer whose story is as textured and interesting as the songs she sings. The legendary singer narrates her personal story, guiding viewers from her early years through her decades- long career and genre-defying musical collaborations. This viewing is appropriately well timed as the singer was honored this month when the city of Tucson renamed the Music Hall at the Tucson Convention Center as the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall.

June 25 - Bohemian Rhapsody
Celebrate Queen, their music, and their extraordinary lead singer, Freddie Mercury, in this world premiere release of the Bohemian Rhapsody Sing-along. Guests will have the rare opportunity to become immersed in the historic Live Aid Concert while they sing along with Queen to the memorable tunes from that day including Bohemian Rhapsody, Under Pressure, Somebody to Love and We are the Champions!
July 30 – The Greatest Showman
Inspired by the imagination of P.T. Barnum, The Greatest Showman is an original musical with music by Award-winning songwriters Pasek and Paul (La La Land, Dear Evan Hansen, the live-action movie musical Aladdin, and others). The movie celebrates the birth of show business and tells the story of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation. Experience The Greatest Showman in the greatest way possible – with lyrics on screen so you can join in as loud as you want.
August 27 – The Sound of Music
The Sound of Music is a five-times Oscar winner. It was released in 1965, but it offers its fans something a little different from other classic movies. The movie has some of the best-known songs of the last century contained within a score by Howard Lindsay and Russell Crouse. At each event, fans watch the movie and take part in various songs and scenes under the watchful eye of a host who guides the audience through the movie to make sure you get the maximum enjoyment from the show. One of the reasons for the success of the Sing-along Sound of Music phenomenon is the fact the movie is simply a classic.
