Tucson, AZ-- Voted Tucson's Best New Restaurant of 2022 by Tucson Weekly readers, The Monica celebrates its first anniversary on Wednesday March 1st.  The public is invited to share in the celebration featuring samplings of new dishes, live music, prizes, and drink specials starting at $1!

Located at 40 E. Congress in the Hexagon building in downtown Tucson, The Monica honors its namesake Monica Flin, the founder of Tucson's iconic El Charro.  Daily dishes at The Monica include a collection of family and mixed cultural recipes like those “Tia” Monica would have made for her friends and family - food Made with Love!

With its open kitchen format, beautiful dining room and stunning patio, The Monica is one of Tucson’s most popular destinations, offering daily breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as weekend brunch and happy hours from 2-6pm Mon-Fri. Full-service bars are available both inside and on the patio. Recipes are created using a variety of local ingredients such as nopales, mesquite flour, and local Barrio Grains, infused in recipes such as hand stretched pizzas and fresh baked cinnamon rolls and more.

Ray Flores, founder of The Monica and great nephew to Monica Flin is pleased when he hears others say that this project is a triumphant return to downtown his great grand aunt, in spite of the fact that Tia Monica was forced out of business during the urban renewal period of downtown Tucson, he feels that she's been there all along.

The Monica is part of the Si Charro! family of restaurants. For details visit www.themonicatucson.com .
