Tucson, AZ – August 28, 2024 – This Friday, the Tucson Symphony Orchestra (TSO) will unveil the first elements of an important new brand campaign, “Transcend Your Senses”. A striking component of the campaign will be an immersive public art activation inspired by the celestial wonders of the cosmos and the vibrant energy of the Sonoran Desert monsoon. The installation, titled Momento Cósmico, will debut at the Mercado San Agustin Annex Night Market, 6pm-10pm, on Friday, August 30, and will remain open to the public through the end of January.

The Transcend Your Senses campaign emphasizes the transformative power of orchestral music. By stirring emotions, encouraging reflection, and fostering a sense of community, the campaign reinforces TSO’s dedication to providing enriching cultural experiences that extend beyond the traditional concert hall, making the arts more accessible to all Tucsonans.

“Transcend Your Senses is more than just a tagline; it’s an invitation to explore the world in deeper, more meaningful ways,” said Paul Meecham, President and CEO of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. “We’re thrilled to launch this new chapter for the TSO brand with Momento Cósmico, a piece of art that encapsulates our vision of reflecting our many communities and bringing them together through music. It’s a celebration of the rich cultural tapestry of Tucson and the boundless possibilities that our music and the arts in our community can provide.”

Designed by Tucson-based artist and architect Myles Peña in partnership with BRINK Media Group, Momento Cósmico engages the senses by blending sight, sound, and touch into a unified, immersive experience. Set against the backdrop of Sentinel Peak (“A” Mountain), the reflective aluminum structure harmoniously integrates with the native plant life, creating a seamless connection with the surrounding landscape and the modern aesthetic of the Annex complex.

As visitors step into the installation, they will be enveloped by the sounds of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, performing music that highlights the upcoming season, offering a truly transcendent experience.

Momento Cósmico will remain on display at the MSA Annex through the end of January, allowing Tucsonans multiple opportunities to experience this captivating installation. The launch of Transcend Your Senses including Momento Cósmico marks the beginning of TSO’s exciting 2024-25 season, which will feature free concerts and performances showcasing the transcendent power of orchestral music.
