The Mission in the Sun, designed and built in 1952 by the late Arizona artist Ted DeGrazia, honors Father Kino and was dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe. The mission features colorful DeGrazia murals, rock floor, and an open-air ceiling. It is open to the public 24 hours a day and there is never an admission fee for entering the mission.
