For the first time in its more than 230-year history, free guided tours are now available. The 45-minute tours are led by specially trained, volunteer docents, who explain the Mission's history and its lavishly decorated interior, the richest and most ornate in the Southwest. Beautiful, Beautiful Old Mission
We were visiting from the southeast - Alabama and North Carolina - and a friend from northern Arizona had told us about this mission and how photogenic it was. It clearly was not a disappointment...
For those of you who like to visit missions and churches, this is worth the trip. Incredibly ornate, visually beautifully, especially the exterior lines. Worth the trip.
