Etherton Events: Wednesday Showcase Episode 7
Recurring weekly on Wednesday, Saturday
Welcome to Episode 7 of Etherton Events Saturday Showcase -- (now the Wednesday Showcase) -- featuring Terry Etherton reading an excerpt from one of the best books ever written about photography, John Szarkowski's Looking at Photographs. Listen to Terry read an excerpt on Clarence John Laughlin and talk briefly about his work. This is our last interview with the artists from our current show Go Figure. Today we present Tucson artist Titus Castanza, whose series of large scale collages (approx. 45 x 55") are hung in the main gallery. Castanza makes his collages by cutting up existing paintings and drawings marrying them to new works and a variety of vernacular materials to create something entirely new. He is thoughtful about his relationship to his studio and his process, not to mention that he is utterly disarming. We hope that you enjoy getting to know him. Stay tuned for more to come. Stay safe everyone.
This video series features informal chats with some of Etherton Gallery's artists, now posted on Wednesdays, until further notice. Etherton Gallery, in downtown Tucson, specializes in 20th century and contemporary fine photography, and features top regional artists working in all media.
