With all of the changes going on in Tucson, the members of the Historic Fourth Avenue Coalition came up with an idea to beautify Historic Avenue and Sixth Street by covering the construction fences along the former Flycatcher with beautiful murals from local artists. This event takes place on the 50th anniversary of Woodstock, so join us on our first-ever Paintstock, a day of art, love, and Tucson unity. Its gonna be a happenin'!Program: All day - 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.Mending Fences: Watch our over 20 artists gift their time and talent to the community by painting giant murals on the 5 feet x 15-feet canvases that are hung over the construction fences down Fourth Avenue and Sixth Avenue & (by the former Flycatcher)Kids Murals: Two five feet x 15 feet canvases will be reserved for kids in the community. One to paint with guided instruction and another to color in. Thumbs Up Tucson" Community Mural: One five feet x 15 feet canvas is for a pointillism-style mural of a Tucson sunset. Using only thumbprints, anyone and everyone passing by throughout the day can make their mark. One thumbprint or 1,000 - come, be a part of our beautiful community canvas.4 p.m. - 7 p.m.Community Mural project at 311 E. 7th St. Well have tables and shade set up with paint, coloring sheets for kids, and more fun at our paint party.
