Picturing 2020: A Community Reflects is a virtual exhibition featuring works by more than 150 artists from Southern Arizona that depict our community's myriad experiences with the destabilizing events of this year.
Despite the differences in medium and style, many of these works share common themes related to feelings of isolation, frustration, longing and hope.
Art reflects the time in which it was created, but its meaning can also change over time when seen through a new lens. With this in mind, curators selected works from the UAMA permanent collection to echo the themes from the community.
