Pumpkin Fiesta Glassblowing Event
Venue: Sonoran Glass School
Time: From: 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM
Celebrate fall and support glass arts-education at the Pumpkin Fiesta, this annual October event featuring hundreds of handmade glass-blown pumpkins on display, live furnace glassblowing, and Make Your Own activities, all in support of Sonoran Glass School. Enjoy fiery glass art experiences and a huge pumpkin patch of this year's hand-crafted glass pumpkins. There are new surprises for this year too with an expanded body of fall-themed work on display including fused fall platters, candle holders, and more. Explore glass art pumpkin patches in a fall-themed gallery. Enjoy free admission and exciting glassblowing presentations. Create your own glass pumpkin or other project in the studio during classes. Support nonprofit glass art education in Southern Arizona. *The glassblowing pumpkin experience is a popular activity that sometimes creates long waits. We recommend pre-scheduling your experience with the office. Call 520-884-7814 to reserve a time slot. Closed-toed shoes required. Ages 5 and up. Pieces require 24 to 48 hours to cool down before they can be picked up.
On both days of the Pumpkin Fiesta at 1PM, our glassblowers will provide a glassblowing demonstration. On a wireless mic, an artist will explain the steps used to shape molten glass into this year's signature pumpkins. Admission is free and all proceeds from pumpkin sales and experiences support the 501(c) 3 nonprofit Sonoran Glass School and its mission and community programs. The event also features a fall arts-and-crafts table for younger kids, cookies, beverages, and more. All proceeds from pumpkin patch sales and experiences benefit the non-profit 501(c)3 Sonoran Glass School, and its educational programs. Sonoran Glass School is located at 633 w. 18th St near the Historic Barrio Viejo in Tucson, Arizona. (view map)
