Get ready for a rockin' Library Night Out, hosted by the Pascua Yaqui Tribe of Arizona and Pima County Public Library. Make your way to the Richey Resource Center (Old Pascua Village in Tucson near Grant and I-10) for a special screening of Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World.Schedule:5 pm: Blessing and introduction 5-6: Free light refreshments and food for sale from Pop's Hot Chicken food truck 5:15: Traditional drummers 5:30: Peter Yucupicio, Jr. of "Sur Block," an Old Pascua Village indie band, will talk about their music and show a video 6-7:30: Screening of Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World. This movie tells the story of an essential, and until now, missing chapter in the history of American Music: the Indigenous influence. Featuring music icons Jimi Hendrix, Buffy Sainte-Marie, and Redbone, among others, Rumble shows how these talented Native musicians helped shape the soundtracks of our lives. The New York Times called it, "An encore for the Native Americans who shook up rock 'n' roll." It also received rave reviews in the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post, The Guardian, and the Hollywood Reporter (to name a few).
