Tumacacori Century Ride
It's October in Tucson...perfect weather for a bicycle ride, presented by Greater Arizona Bicycling Association (GABA). With El Tour De Tucson a month away, it proves to be an excellent training ride. Three options are available for riders, from novice to very experienced cyclists: a 100-mile loop/out and back; 70-mile out and back; 30-mile out and back. All route options run south through the scenic Santa Cruz River Valley, Tubac, and Tumacacaori Mission. The route is a mixture of flat, rolling hills, and challenging climbs, all the while being very picturesque. Many cyclists record their best time for riding a century on this route. The start/finish for the 100 mile and 70 mile distances is Sahuarita High School. This ride is open to members and non-members of GABA. (Gene Chapman Memorial Bicycle Ride)
To have successful rides, we need members to volunteer to help with check-in/registration before the ride, operate a SAG stop, or drive a sweep vehicle to help cyclists. Learn more on the GABA Volunteering page and send questions to our Volunteer Coordinator, via firstname.lastname@example.org.
