Congratulations to Randy Houser (and co-writer Brice Long) for his Song of the Year nomination for this year's CMA Awards! We hope you’ll join us in having our fingers crossed that "Like a Cowboy" beats out some tough competition on Wednesday, Nov. 4 when the ceremonies air live on ABC. In the meantime, we have a playlist of Randy Houser videos that celebrate the country star’s connection to Tucson that you’ll enjoy, featuring a behind-the-scenes look at the making of "Like a Cowboy" at Old Tucson Studios, a live performance of the smash hit at the sold-out Fox Tucson Theatre last year, plus Randy’s newest video, "We Went".
TUCSON, Ariz. - To celebrate Tucson's starring role in country music video "Like A Cowboy," a ballad from Randy Houser's chart-topping album How Country Feels, Visit Tucson is bringing the critically acclaimed singer/songwriter back to town for an exclusive, live performance on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the historic Fox Theatre in downtown Tucson.
From the start, the singer-songwriter had wanted to surprise fans with something “unique, special…a little beyond where we’ve been.” He found it at Old Tucson Studios. The production studio birthed cinema classics such as Rio Bravo and Tombstone. For Houser, Old Tucson provided the perfect setting for the video’s storyline: a period Western in which the country musician plays a drover whose work keeps him far from home for months on end.
TUCSON, Ariz. - Earlier this year, chart-topping country star Randy Houser brought fans an epic music video for his single, "Like A Cowboy," the fourth single from the album How Country Feels, which has yielded three consecutive No. 1 hits. Visit Tucson worked closely with Houser's production team during the week long filming of the video and negotiated product placement, through CMS International, of a "Welcome to Tucson" sign, to give the ballad a sense of place.
