The Center for Creative Photography will celebrate co-founder Ansel Adams with a new exhibition and a celebration of his birthday on February 22 and 23, 2019. The exhibition opens to the public Saturday, February 23 in the Heritage Gallery.
Green Bay Packers quarterback and two-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers will play in the Jose Cuervo Pro-Am at the Cologuard Classic PGA TOUR Champions event on Wednesday, February 27th at Omni Tucson National. Rodgers, who also played in the tournament’s 2018 pro-am, is expected to tee off at approximately 11:30 a.m. and will play with close friend, fellow Wisconsin-resident, and Cologuard ambassador, PGA TOUR Champions professional Jerry Kelly.

Tumamoc Hill is undergoing a transformation, this year. The University of Arizona will undertake a complete repaving of the 1 1/2-mile road up Tumamoc Hill, beginning in January 2019, to make it more passable for walkers and researchers and to preserve the ecological and historical elements of the property.
The sweeping new exhibition, curated by the Center’s Chief Curator Dr. Rebecca Senf, features eighty Avedon images from the collection, including many impressive large-scale prints. It is only the third exhibition of Avedon’s work and the first in over 10 years at the Center’s University of Arizona, Tucson gallery and a unique opportunity to see some of the photographer’s best-known work.
The Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block (TMA) presents the first significant mid-career survey by artist Carlos Estévez in Carlos Estévez: Entelechy, Works from 1992 to 2018, January 26 – May 5, 2019 in the James J. and Louise R. Glasser Galleries. This personal and reflective exhibit explores 25 years of work, with more than 70 paintings, drawings, installations and sculptures by Estévez, considered one of the most prominent Cuban artists of the late 20th century.
