World-Class Golf at Omni Tucson National Resort

Updated: May 2023

Tucson has a well-deserved reputation as a place for visitors to revitalize their spirits and free their minds. That’s especially true in winter when a good portion of the country becomes a three-month icebox. When it's time for a warm-up, Omni Tucson National Resort epitomizes a desert destination that soothes the soul. It has great accommodations, fantastic restaurants on-site, a scenic location, and, of course, 36 holes of golf.

Omni Hole #15 Sonoran Course

Omni Tucson National

The Catalina Course is one of two 18-hole layouts at the resort. Catalina is the more traditional, parkland-style of the two layouts; the Sonoran Course, designed by golf legend Tom Lehman, is a desert-style course. The club alternates the Catalina and Sonoran tracks between members and guests each day; play one today and the other tomorrow. It’s a great opportunity to challenge yourself on two different types of courses and a big reason why locals chose Omni Tucson National for a weekend staycation.

The Catalina routing could easily have been transplanted from somewhere in the Midwest: tree-lined fairways, water in strategic locations on eight holes, and nary a tee shot across the desert. It offers the right combination of challenge and enjoyment. Families are frequently seen working on their games together on the range (not to mention the on-course food and beverage service are top-notch). Golf is a family activity, after all.

The Catalina Course’s finishing hole is a make-or-break, 443-yard par 4, with water on both sides of the fairway. It’s often noted as one of the toughest finishing holes in Southern Arizona. It’s no wonder pro and college golfers have been testing their mettle here since the 1960s, with a winner’s list that includes the late, great Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino, Johnny Miller, and Phil Mickelson. Golf’s legends continued competition on Omni Tucson National's Catalina Course until the Spring of 2023.

The resort’s fine-dining restaurant is Bob’s Steak & Chop House. Both Open Table and TripAdvisor enthusiasts have piled praise on the resort’s steakhouse.

Treat yourself and your family by taking in everything Omni Tucson National Resort has to offer: world-class golf, incredible cuisine, rooms with all the comforts of home, and friendly staff.
