Hacienda Del Sol’s Executive Pastry Chef, Shelli Soto, will appear on Food Network’s Halloween Cake-Off this October 7th. Chef Shelli and a group of talented pastry chefs will compete to win the approval of Food Network judges, Waylynn Lucas and Duff Goldman. Featuring two rounds of competition, contestants must create two spooky, Halloween-themed creations that transform before the judge’s eyes.
Chef Shelli has always loved baking. Ever since she was old enough to help in the kitchen she’s been refining her skills. “I am inspired by people’s reactions to what I create,” Chef Shelli said, “I want them to taste something amazing and also see a work of art in front of them.” When it comes to creating desserts that look like a work of art, Chef Shelli has perfected her craft. Food Network stumbled upon Chef Shelli’s beautiful work on Instagram and Pictame and knew they found someone special to compete on Halloween Cake-Off.
Filming both in Tucson at Hacienda Del Sol and in studio in California proved to be a challenging and fun experience for Chef Shelli. “My favorite part of the show was competing in round one. We had so much fun!” Chef Shelli said, referring to her and her partner on the show, Chef Daniel. When asked if she would like to participate in other Food Network shows, Chef Shelli said she would love to. Tune in Monday, October 7th (10pm / 9pm central) on Food Network to see Chef Shelli’s creative Halloween masterpieces on Season 1, Episode 4.
