Tucson Tourism Ambassador Program Returns

Visit Tucson has resumed offering Tucson Tourism Ambassador certification, part of the nationally accredited Certified Tourism Ambassador™ (CTA) program.

Tucson’s CTA program is a multi-faceted certification that serves to increase tourism by inspiring front-line employees and volunteers to turn every visitor encounter into a positive experience. When visitors have a positive experience, they are more likely to return in the future and also share their experience with others. Everyone benefits – the visitor, the industry, the local economy, and most importantly, the front-line worker.

A CTA is anyone who wants to represent Tucson in the best way possible. CTA's are front-line hospitality workers, volunteers, general managers, small business owners, public officials, college students, and police officers - just to name a few. If you have contact with visitors to our community or would just like to increase your knowledge about our area - this certification is for you.

A participant in Visit Tucson’s August training field test said, “Everyone who works at a hotel or restaurant, or is in the service industry should take this course.”

Visit Tucson will be offering monthly courses starting in September 2019. The course consists of pre-class reading and exercises and a half-day training, followed by an open book exam. The registration fee is $45. The current class schedule is: Thursday September 26, 2019, Thursday October 24, 2019, Wednesday November 13, 2019, Tuesday December 3, 2019, Tuesday January 14, 2020, Thursday February 27, 2020. The half-day certification courses will be held at the Visit Tucson offices at 115 N. Church Ave. To register for an upcoming class, go to https://www.ctanetwork.com/app/
