Tucson, Arizona - (September 2019) JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa, considered one of Tucson's premier luxury destination resorts, has recently completed a host of property renovations according to General Manager Russ Bond.
"It's been an exciting year to watch all of these enhancements unfold and come to fruition," said Bond. "We are always striving to stay relevant and ahead of industry trends, while at the same time, listening to our guest's feedback and creating a signature JW Marriott experience for them on every level."
The resort's 20,000 square foot Hashani Spa underwent a thorough transformation including design, all new furniture and equipment, as well as resurfacing the spa's private adult's only, saline pool, cabanas, decking and hot tubs.
The Spa's third level entry was completely transformed and opens up into an inviting reception area with comfortable seating, a bright sunburst rug of orange hues and boutique display of retail products and workout, spa attire. Simplistic, new artwork adorns the walls that are complimented by soft colors and turquoise accents that reflect the region. An Express Treatment Pod was added to provide guests-on-the-go with 12 or 25 minute treatments for scalp massages or to relieve tense shoulders.
Hashani's lower level lobby features a wider, open space with four plush, comfortable couches and seating with floor to ceiling windows featuring spectacular mountain views. The salon, complete with new manicure tables and pedicure chairs also graces a new space in the lower lobby. Subtle shades of blues and turquoise accents throughout the lower level transition to the outdoor private saline pool and newly covered cabanas.
Paying tribute to the land in which Hashani Spa and the resort were built, a three-story high, metal cactus sculpture predominantly graces the center of The Spa's large circular staircase. In the Tohono O'odham language, Hashani means Saguaro which is how The Spa's name came to be.
The resort's stunning lobby was redesigned to complement the vast open space and picturesque views, bringing in a touch of contemporary but cozy seating enclaves and configurations while still maintaining its southwest feel.
Located on the lower lobby level and inspired by the open-air festivals and Mercado's of Southern Arizona and Sonora Mexico, the JW Market offers a diverse selection of locally-inspired specialty snacks and products from Tucson's finest purveyors. Chalkboard menus adorn the walls featuring regionally-influenced flatbreads, artisan breads and sandwiches and soups to go. Legendary local favorite Isabella's hand-dipped ice cream is served using fresh, natural and all local ingredients that are non-GMO certified. Happy Hour at JW Market is promoted via a roll of butcher paper on the wall, touting specialty wines and beers on tap that are routinely rotated throughout the year.
Relocated from the lower lobby, a much larger Starbucks graces the upper lobby level across from the gift shop offering sweeping mountain views to accompany its famous brews and cold nitro brew coffees.
Considered the most popular gathering spot on property, and home to the resort's nightly tequila toast, Salud Terrace was refreshed with all new furniture and additional fire pits and the interior bar was completely refinished.
The resort's gift shop which offers a vast array of logoed apparel, local artisan jewelry and signature products and accessories also underwent a redesign complemented with new furniture and accents.
Exterior enhancements included re-roofing the entire resort and painting the exterior of the resort building.
