Tucson Named First UNESCO City of Gastronomy

On December 11, 2015, Tucson, Arizona became one of 116 Member Cities of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization's (UNESCO) Creative Cities program - established in 2004 to promote cooperation between cities for "sustainable urban development" - and the only one selected for Gastronomy.

UnSilencing Anatomies: Art, culture, justice & medicine: story-telling as transformation

Kore Press and the University of Arizona have joined forces to create a city-wide, 2-month long series of events exploring the impact of personal stories on public health and safety. “UnSilencing Anatomies” kick-off events run from October 1 -7 (details below), and will include a streetcar journey/performance, story-gathering, readings, a panel, and exhibits.

Vamos a Tucson Mexican Baseball Fiesta Returns to Tucson for 6th Year

The Mexican Baseball Fiesta and Visit Tucson announced the sixth annual Vamos a Tucson Mexican Baseball Fiesta presented by Cox and Vantage West will be played on September 29 – October 2, 2016 in Tucson, Arizona. The Mexican Baseball Fiesta returns to Kino Stadium after a one-year hiatus to Hi Corbett Field.

Arizona to Host 2016 PAC Rugby Sevens Championship

July 22, 2016 -- The PAC Conference has formally awarded the University of Arizona the 2016 PAC Rugby Sevens Championship at the Pima County Kino Sports Complex on November 12-13, 2016. Arizona’s selection marks the first PAC Rugby Sevens Championship to be held in Tucson.
