The Perfect Combo

Shopping & Relaxation

We know shopping can sometimes be hectic, but we also know there is joy in strolling through a shop and leisurely browsing with friends. Add a spa visit or maybe a laid-back lunch and you've got a perfect girlfriend's getaway. Plan a day of togetherness with these suggestions that blend serenity and shop-ability (with a dash of fun for good measure).

Shopping

La Encantada

This shopping, dining and social destination in the Catalina Foothills is a hot-spot for fashion mavens and foodies, with upscale retailers -- think Brooks Brothers, Crate & Barrel, and Tiffany & Co. -- and a premier food court featuring both local independent eateries -- like two Fox Restaurant Concepts -- and favorite national restaurants. Valet parking service is available.

Tucson Premium Outlets®

Known as a fun place to save money, thanks to a collection of designer outlets as well as a mix of retail stores and restaurants. On the northwest side of metro Tucson, this shopping center serves the nearby communities of Marana, Oro Valley, Dove Mountain, and Tucson.

Park Place Mall

Shop in air-conditioned comfort at this large, indoor mall anchored by Macy's and Dillard's and featuring favorite national stores as well as a food court, a children's play area, and plenty of uncovered parking, on the east side of metro Tucson.

Historic Fourth Avenue

Local shops, bookstores, salons and barbers, restaurants, bars, and pubs line Historic Fourth Avenue, a walkable bohemian district on the edge of historic neighborhoods and on the Sun Link Streetcar line. The Fourth Avenue Street Fair brings an outdoor marketplace for shoppers twice a year.

Main Gate Square

At the west entrance to the University of Arizona, on the Sun Link Streetcar line, pedestrian-friendly Main Gate Square is fashion-forward with many local merchants (get your UA gear here), patio restaurants and brewpubs, and year-round concerts, block parties, and Wildcat spirit rallies.

Mercado San Agustin & MSA Annex

At the west end of the Sun Link Streetcar line, shop for apparel and home furnishings, savor border-style treats, or enjoy entertainment during one of many planned events throughout the year at Mercado San Agustín, home to several independent local businesses. Next door, explore the variety of locally owned small businesses at the MSA Annex, a cluster of artfully arranged modified shipping containers anchored by an outdoor entertainment venue.

Lost Barrio Shops

The Lost Barrio's world importers and artisans have created an exciting and colorful interior design and gift shopping destination. Handcrafted furniture, antique home furnishings, folk art, rugs, and Mexican imports fill a handful of large shops and galleries located in a historic warehouse district of Tucson known as the Barrio San Antonio. There’s also Tooley’s, a small café serving a casual breakfast and lunch menu.

Local Shopping Plazas

Spend a relaxing day boutique-hopping. Visit one of Tucson's unique and charming shopping plazas, such as Old Town Artisans, Broadway Village, Casas Adobes Plaza, Plaza Palomino, and Joesler Village.

Relaxation

Day Spas

Rejuvenate with the latest in natural healing and wellness therapies at Tucson's best day spas, including Gadabout SalonSpas. Or seriously indulge yourself at either of Tucson's two world-renowned destination resort spas, Canyon Ranch and Miraval.

Essence of Tranquility

A privately operated site which features artesian hot mineral springs (indoor and outdoor, as well as private and communal). Seven miles south of the city of Safford, at the base of Mt. Graham. (928) 428-9312
