A New Way to See Tucson

In 2016 Visit Tucson partnered with Google to capture the experience of hiking in Southern Arizona and make it accessible on Google Maps in the form of Street View imagery. The idea was to share some of our region's most beautiful and accessible hikes with people all across the globe.

Using Google's Street View Trekker technology we went out to some of our favorite trails in the mountains that surround Tucson, including the Santa Catalinas, the Tucson Mountains, the Santa Ritas, the Rincons, and even the Chiricahuas, further to the east. Using the Trekker backpack, we hiked through some of these spectacular landscapes and captured what can only be described as some of the most diverse terrain in the country – a hiker's paradise.
