NOVA® Home Loans Arizona Bowl

It will be Aggie vs Aggie when New Mexico State and Utah State meet at Arizona Stadium for Tucson's post-season NCAA-certified collegiate football bowl game and end-of-the-year party, Friday, Dec. 29.

Arizona Stadium - Kickoff @ 3:30 p.m. 

The New Mexico State Aggies (Sun Belt Conference) and the Utah State Aggies (Mountain West Conference) have been invited to play at the 3rd NOVA® Home Loans Arizona Bowl, NCAA-sanctioned college football game, December 29, 2017 at Arizona Stadium, University of Arizona, Tucson. Kickoff @ 3:30 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. Gates open @ 2 p.m.

Thursday, Dec. 28 - The University of Arizona Downtown Block Party, 3-8 p.m. On the day before the game, head to Armory Park, 200 S. 6th Ave., for this family-friendly party, and cheer your favorite team on to victory! Sample the world's longest Sonoran hot dog, provided by El Charro Café. Enjoy carnival rides, bowl game-school marching bands and cheerleaders performing, a human foosball game, and music by the local band 80's and Gentlemen.

Friday, Dec. 29 - Desert Diamond Casino Tailgate Festival, 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Gates open at 11 a.m. Located on University of Arizona Mall, near Arizona Stadium. Admission is free with your game ticket. On game day, get the party started at the official tailgate and enjoy great local food and beer, an interactive Kids Zone, as well as live music at 1:30-2:45 p.m. performed by alternative rock band Neon Trees and the opening act alternative rock-and-pop band, Alien Atmosphere. You can take part in the Nacho Average Tailgate–Tucson’s Nacho Festival with your game ticket and an additional $15; sample Tucson’s best nachos from 40 local restaurants while sipping on cold beer provided by Hensley Beverage Company.  

Friday, Dec. 29 NOVA® Home Loans Arizona Bowl GameArizona Stadium. Kickoff at 3:30 p.m. Gates open at 2 p.m. This game is one of the 41 official NCAA football bowl games and features teams from the Mountain West Conference (Utah State Aggies) and the Sun Belt Conference (New Mexico State Aggies). During the game, watch for professional artist and vocalist Joe Everson, who will complete a patriotic-themed painting in minutes while singing "The Star-Spangled Banner."

The game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network (Direct TV Channel 221, Dish Channel 158, Cox Channel 312, Comcast Channel 594). 

Friday, Dec. 29 - The University of Arizona Downtown After-Game Block Party, 7-10 p.m. After the game, head back to Armory Park for the official after-game party with local food vendors, carnival rides, a beer garden, and a human foosball game. At 8 p.m., dance to live music performed by 1980s Grammy Award-winning New Wave synth-pop band A Flock of Seagulls, best-known for their 1982 hit single "I Ran (So Far Away)."

Transportation - Getting from Arizona Stadium to Armory Park is no sweat when you ride the Sun Link Streetcar. Locate streetcar stops nearest Armory Park (on Broadway Blvd., just east of 6th Ave. for eastbound; on Congress Street, just east of 6th Ave. for westbound), using this Streetcar Map; or call (520) 792-9222.

The Sun Link Streetcar's 3.9-mile route connects you to five of Tucson's most unique dining and entertainment districts. You can ride the streetcar from near Arizona Stadium, on the University of Arizona campus, to Main Gate SquareFourth Avenue, Downtown Core, and Mercado San Agustin. Watch a video with tips on how to ride

If you're cyclist, you can pedal from campus to downtown on a bike rented at a TuGo Bike Share station. There is a TuGo station at the northwest corner of Armory Park (southeast corner of 6th Ave. and 12th St.). Also, you can ride the Sun Tran bus

Garage Parking - Before the game, it's convenient to park your car in one of the garages located in the University of Arizona and Downtown Core districts, which are connected by the Sun Link Streetcar.

Background on the Game - The inaugural NOVA® Home Loans Arizona Bowl Game was a Mountain West matchup of the Colorado State Rams and the University of Nevada Wolfpack, with the Wolfpack taking the bowl game's first trophy. In 2016, the Air Force Falcons defeated Sun Belt Conference opponent, South Alabama. 

The NOVA® Home Loans Arizona Bowl (a non-profit organization) was sanctioned in March 2015 as the 41st NCAA college football game and the third bowl game staged in Arizona. The NOVA® Home Loans Arizona Bowl is dedicated to promoting community engagement and support in the Tucson area and will include teams from the Mountain West Conference and the Sun Belt Conference.
