Celebration City

Tucson's year-round calendar of long-running events and fresh new fiestas has attracted international acclaim.

Welcome to a World Festival & Event City

The International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA) recognized Tucson for touching lives in a positive way through celebration.

For entertainment all year round, Tucson has a wonderful calendar of events and festivals. Celebrations of local and national stature come in all sizes and shapes, ranging from food fairs and street fests to concerts and sports competitions.

Many events happen outdoors so you can enjoy the entertainment while basking in sunshine or scenic views. Our busiest time of year is winter, though every season has plenty to celebrate. Even hot summer has special appeal, attracting night owls for good times after sundown and bird-watchers during monsoon rains.

Fiestas full of life and tradition tied to Tucson’s multicultural borderland region are hugely popular. Several signature events highlighting aspects of our history and heritage have been running continuously for decades. And many events related to music, food, culture and science, and sports are connected to University of Arizona talent in our progressive college town.

Tucson, Arizona is one of the nine cities worldwide honored as a 2017 World Festival & Event City."

For these reasons and more, Tucson was one of nine cities worldwide chosen as a 2017 World Festival & Event City by International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA). This award was created as a way for the global festivals and events industry to openly encourage, support and recognize positive local environments for festivals and events worldwide. City entries were judged by an international panel of industry experts in the only recognition program of its kind.
