The spring tour focuses on downtown and is sponsored by the Warehouse Arts Management Organization (WAMO) with support from Dinnerware Artspace. A preview exhibit of registrants' work will be at the new Arts Incubator Gallery, 108 E Congress (next to the GRILL), with a kickoff reception May 8, 6 to 8 p.m.

African Sojourn Art Show May. 18 - Jun. 18
Original paintings of African animals inspired by a recent trip to Africa are featured in a new show by Tucson artist Diana Madaras and others. All proceeds will be donated to groups helping animals in Africa and locally, including Reid Park Zoo and TROT's equine therapy program. A public reception for the show's opening is May 18, 3pm to 6pm at Madaras Gallery.

A celebration of the landing of the NASA/University of Arizona Phoenix Mars Lander, live from "mission control" at the University of Arizona. Activities are planned at Kuiper Space Sciences Building, Sonett Space Sciences Building, Flandrau: The UA Science Center, and the UA Mall. After the landing, NASA turns over mission control to the U of A.

National Trails Day is a chance to visit your local parks and nature centers. The 2008 theme, "Join Us on the Trail" is an open invitation to Americans to join a hiking club, outdoor retailer, parks and recreation department, or federal land managing agency and get outside and experience the great outdoors.
