Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Showcase
The world-renowned Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Showcase is like a time portal, a trip around the world, and a treasure hunt all rolled into one. Every winter, over 65,000 guests from around the globe descend upon Tucson, AZ, to buy, sell, trade, and bear witness to rare and enchanting gems, minerals, and fossils at over 48 gem show locations across the city. If you're planning a winter visit to Tucson, you won't want to miss this three-week-long event.
Whether you’re looking for a $5 shimmering crystal necklace or a show-stopping $200,000 crystallized rock from an exotic location, the showcase has something for everyone.
With dozens of gem shows scattered across Tucson, where should you begin? We recommend starting with one of three popular venues.
The Tucson Gem & Mineral Show is the key event of the entire showcase. From its humble beginnings in 1955, the show now takes place over 181,000 square feet in the fabulous Tucson Convention Center.
It’s a special event where thousands of passionate buyers and collectors come together to view some of the rarest gem, jewelry, and mineral specimens available today.
The JOGS Tucson Gem and Jewelry Show at the Tucson Expo Center Gem Show is a leading jewelry event in North America. It brings together dealers, buyers, exhibitors, and more to browse a large selection of to-die-for gemstones, jewelry, and wholesale rough stones.
Some of the largest dealers in the world set up shop at the massive Gem Show at Kino Sports Complex. With acres of free parking and over two hundred vendors occupying an enormous pavilion and many large and small vendor tents, this is the ideal location to bring your entire family.

Plan Your Stay
Hotels for this widely popular Southern Arizona event fill up quickly. We recommend booking your accommodations months in advance.
Many people choose to lodge in or around downtown, which is close to most gem show locations. Another option is to make a mini-vacation out of your stay and opt for something more scenic.
Be sure to check out one of our various resorts nestled in the picturesque foothills around town, like the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort. The resort has an exquisite gem and mineral display just outside the lobby bar. Grab a drink and enjoy the shine as you plot which precious gems you’ll purchase at tomorrow’s show.
Keeping the Gem Alive Year-Round
Each September, a scaled-back Fall Gem Show takes place in Tucson. But that’s not your last chance to keep the “rock” show alive. If you’re looking for a great gem and mineral store in Tucson, check out Tucson Mineral and Gem World. Or you can enjoy the breathtaking collection of gems and minerals at the UArizona Alfie Norville Gem & Mineral Museum.
